Consti here humbled into submission with an admission for you. I am a racist! Yes I said it. And frankly I am proud of it. I have no shame in admitting I am a member of what I think is the greatest race I know. I have a proud heritage in my race. My people have produced fire, the wheel, housing, language, writing, irrigation, husbandry & Agriculture, indoor plumbing, the pyramids, medicine, astronomy, science, the arts, music, electricity, the unified theory, pasta, split the atom, etc. We have discovered the world is round, orbits the sun, gravity, the automobile, the boat, the spear, the arrow, mass production, gun powder, the computer, artificial intelligence, space ships, the concept of 0, war, and the atomic bomb.
I am proud to say loudly I am a member of what I think is the greatest race I know. I am a member of The HUMAN RACE or as we liked to be called Homo-sapiens.
“Now Consti that is just a ridiculous over simplification of the issue of race! We are all humans!” And you are exactly right. We are all humans and if more of us came to terms with that there wouldn’t be an issue with race now would there?
See the human animal is a flawed creature in many ways. One being the need to categorize people, places and things in order to process the information internally. I’m an accountant or I’m a lawyer is a good example of the human animals need to categorize everything. This categorization goes even further and can take many forms. I’m polish, I’m Latino, I’m Asian, I’m a Hindu, I’m a Muslim, I’m a cancer survivor, I’m a Democrat, I’m a Republican, etc. This categorization of information makes it easier for the human animal’s mind to process interactions and knowledge.
Bias against one sub group of homo-sapiens or the other comes from a learned environment that is taught as the human animal grows. Or can be developed by a loyalty to where the human animal resides or was born. It could be developed by experiences with differing sub-species of homo-sapiens. Negative experiences with the separate sub-species can impact future interactions and color (excuse the pun) those interactions. Bias against one sub-species or another in other words is not a genetic trait. All babies born will gladly accept the love and affection of whom so ever is willing to give it.
Now homo-sapiens are known to be an aggressive race that is true. We as a race are prolific at inflicting pain and suffering on the desperate sub-species. This can be brought on by any form of bias against another sub-species. It could erupt over political, religious, economic, or a host of any other reasons. The human animal is known for forcing other sub-species into submission and subjugating them to their will. As the human animal has developed over the millennia this subjugation has taken many forms.
At this point I would like to remind you that my race has also shown great mercy and charity. This is the dichotomy of the human animal. A good example of this would be the comparison between a wolf pack and homo-sapiens. A wolf pack upon catching food will allow the Alpha male and female eat first. The rest of the pack eats what little is left. The human animal will upon catching food share it with his fellow humans. If you need proof of this look at all the donations to feed the homeless and hungry. When a wolf pack is forced from its den or territory by natural disasters they are forced to fight all the competing wolf packs for survival. The human animal when another sub-species (even one it disagrees with) suffers natural disasters will provide aid to rebuild the human den or territory so that the survival of the species is assured.
If the human animals realized that they are all members of the same race there would be more understanding and co-operation among the race itself. However, the hurdles they have to that self realization are firmly entrenched in their psyche and popular culture. Even among the disparate sub-spices a top down method of control is implemented to propagate the bias against the different sub-species.
Not since the civil rights movement has race been such a divisive issue in our nation as it is today. Sadly the “race card” is over used and many in the public see it for what it is a form of political repression. Again a minority of the human species is trying to impose its political will on a sub-species of homo-sapiens by labeling them as racist. This is their means of disguising their own racist bent by projecting on others their own flaws. I’m afraid a “beer summit” will not solve the problems of race relations in this country.
Only when the politicians stop using race as a crutch to explain their failures or castigate their opponents will there be a “post racial” period in our history. Only when the race hustlers are called out and acknowledged for what they are will there be a semblance of harmony. For it is the race hustlers that propagate the hate that so few of us homo-sapiens really feel towards one another. Learning to fear others is a developed trait that they instill in humans as a means of political, socio-economic, religious control. There will always be idiots among us, but the majority of humans are color blind at birth. We are all taught to be racist and if Martin Luther King (who was a Republican) were alive today he would be ashamed of the race hustlers so prevalent in our society.
I’m a proud member of the greatest race on this planet. I am a proud human and only see other humans around me. Skin color isn’t the issue it’s the color of your soul that is.
“This above all to thy own self be true.” – Shakespeare.
Consti.
(Ed Note: If you think I am condoning or admitting to being a hate filled racist then you don’t know what sarcasm is and should look it up. We are all equal in our own creator’s eyes despite the color of our skin.)

God, I am soooo freakin tired of race issues.
A very large percentage of Americans go through life with a chip on their shoulder, waiting, watching, trying to determine if others are looking at them differently.
Those being judged are supposed to ignore the chip, and then “act” if as it’s not there. “Don’t think of Pink Elephants”, impossible, well so is treating someone with a chip like it’s not there.
I beginning to think my old college professor in poli-sci was right. Until there is such a mixing of the races that we have one color, racism will be with us.
But from the top, color is just a tool used to control the thought of the peasantry. Power and control is what it’s all about. Black and white chess pieces, pawns mostly.
So, either do your part and go have a baby or two with someone of the opposite race to get this ball rolling, OR quit being pawns. Step off the game board, and quit letting the masters move you to where it will do “them” the most good.
personally I find it’s use as a tool of supression of speech the most disturbing. You can make the baseless claim of racism and everyone runs for the hills. Look at this past weekend when Howard Deam tried to make the claim that Fox news is racist for running the clip of the agriculture undersecretary. When reminded that Fox news didn’t run the clip until AFTER she was fired he simply ignored the facts to paint a narrative of Fox that is simply false. Same way with the claims about racism in the tea party movement.. never mind the liberal plant holding that lynching sign… never mind the bigotry of the NAACP or the administration for not denouncing the New Black Panthers. Dean also comment about that calling news reports of it a sham. A SHAM? It was caught on tape and they are trying to play it off like some vast right-wing conspiracy to make them look bad.
Until the politicians come to terms that the MAJORITY OF WHITE PEOPLE VOTED FOR A BLACK PRESIDENT then this issue will not go away. And since they need constant reminding the A MAJORITY OF WHITE AMERICANS VOTED FOR A BLACK PRESIDENT then I guess we will need to be reminded that we are racists? At least that’s the narrative… remember healthcare? If you were against Obamacare you were a racist…
Consti
Just for the record the majority of white voters voted for McCain, not Obama. The majority of white voters always vote Republican in the Presidential election. Just as the majority of black voters always vote for the Democrat candidate. The majority of all Americans voted for a black President.
Blowhard,
Independants tipped that thinking on it’s head this past election. Normally you are right and the majority of whites do vote conservative, but it was the white independants that tipped this scale. I’d call it an abboration in that they wanted to be or “feel” part of history for voting for a black president. I haven’t seen offcial statistics on this in a while, but again voter turn out also played a role.
Just my two cents but thanks for the clarification.
