Title 9: Bias Sublime

Recently a case was brought before a judge asking that “Competitive Cheer Leading” be recognized as a sport under Title 9- the statute requiring all universities receiving Federal money, to offer numerically and financially equal sports opportunities for males and females. This statute was passed under Bill Clinton and written by his– read leftists– people. Cheer leading was left out of title 9 for two main reasons.

Firstly, the radical feminists who composed Title 9 do not think highly of “Cheer Leading.” Any activity that requires being slender and attractive is a no-no. Any activity that was based on girls cheering on boys is a big no-no. So without regard to the athleticism and injuries from participation in competitive cheer leading, the lesbians of the Democrat party successfully kept cheer leading out of the mandated “equality”. Now, Competitive Cheer Leaders do actually compete against each other in sanctioned events. However, cheer leading is a sport that does not attract — how do I put this delicately– women of a more boyish nature. You see, militant lesbians do not like men, or straight women. Title 9 allowed them to over compensate female athletics at the expense of male athletics and keep straight girl sports out. The case that was just decided in the courts was that of a school that wanted to jettison its girls volley ball team and replace their female head count with cheer leaders, who may actually have their athleticism seen by classmates. However the feminists won a victory in the vein of civil rights groups who often win victories against Blacks that do not espouse liberal beliefs. There is a belief that women who do not support the supremacy of women over men in the courts, workplace, and family, are not “real, enlightened” women, the way that blacks who are conservative are derided.

Secondly, the point of this mandate and all “equality” based mandates and laws is not to create equality but rather to overcompensate those perceived as having been denied “equality”. It is ridiculous to equally support women softball teams costing 100 times what they earn compared to men’s football programs that generate millions in profits for their school. Let the women earn their equality. If women supported women’s sports the way men support men’s sports, they would not require additional mandated funding. They would be a profit to the school rather than being on the welfare side of sports programs.

This is just another example of the discriminatory left, using the coat tails of the successful to leap frog beyond what they’ve earned and enjoy the fruits of others labor. These same people so concerned with equality of men and women would never require equal money for counseling, medical care, club funding, or a myriad of other scholastic expenditures where colleges greatly outspend on women versus men. They would never demand that a school have an equal number of boys and girls to receive federal funding. Or that the GPA be the same for boys and girls, to ensure equal teaching and unbiased content.  The list is endless on how women receive more than their fair share in our schools, but in the one area men receive more the Democrats felt the need to correct the imbalance and in so doing minimize the efforts of non-lesbian athletes simultaneously.
