“Rabbit Hutch this is slippery weasel switching to central control channel. Over” Oh hi! Consti here in the Bunker Control room where we are in countdown to November. We have a communiqué release for all Americans to consider pertaining to the coming November elections some 95 days away. Please disseminate this communication to your fellow voters for immediate consumption.
The standard Alinsky Rules for Radicals will be in full play this mid-term election.
Know the rules and use them to your advantage against the liberal onslaught that is sure to come care of the MSM and the political left. Below are the rules that will be used against you and the means to counter them.
- “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”
- “Never go outside the experience of your people.”
- “Wherever possible go outside of the experience of the enemy.”
- “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.”
- “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
- “A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.”
- “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”
- “Keep the pressure on.”
- “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”
- “Major premise for tactics is development of operations that will maintain constant pressure upon the opposition.”
- “If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside.”
- “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”
- “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
Now we all know from Sun Tzu’s “Art of War” that the way to defeat an enemy is to “know your enemy and to know yourself”. With this knowledge we should apply the above rules to our cause in a way that highlights the weaknesses in the liberal agenda.
“Now Consti we are better than they are! We shouldn’t sink to their level!” And I say to that, poppycock! “Know the rules in order to play by the rules!” And since we know that the progressive left will use these “rules” and any other at their disposal in a desperate attempt to stay in power it’s time conservatives did the same.
“Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”
Take a good hard look at the reaction to the tea party from the left. Since the beginning of the movement last summer the liberal talking heads have been trying desperately to make the narrative of a group of “racists” stick to the party. Even to the point of planting protestors, faking signs and what not to make the party look racist. This can be countered by ACTUAL examples of racist remarks and violence from the left. Some good examples can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. We won’t have to “fake” the racism that is prominent on the left. But we will have to draw attention to it over and over again. You can also find examples of their violence here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. The more who send these and other examples into their local newspaper editor and spread on the internet the better. This way the impression of the tea-party will be bigger than what little is shown on the T.V. Go to rallies for local progressive candidates with signs reading “I support bigger government!” or “Tax everyone I don’t care!” of course do whatever it takes to get these signs in front of the cameras short of breaking the law.
“Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.”
Nancy Pelosi famously said the she would “drain the swamp” that was Washington. Obama said he would have the “most transparent administration” in history and the most ethical. Again using the Alinski method we need to make them defend those comments by bringing up Charlie Wrangle, the corn huskers kickback, the Louisiana Purchase, and the Blago fiasco. How about the Sestak and Romanoff job offers? Write into the editor or your local paper, blog comments any and all reference to these and other indiscretions by the liberal elites. Ask why Arizona is being prosecuted for enforcing the law, but sanctuary cities and the black panthers are allowed by the DOJ to break the law.
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”
Start talking in the chat rooms and blog comments about the hearings the Republicans plan on holding into the illegal and unconstitutional actions of this administration and its appointees. Bring up Van Jones, and the Weather Underground as well as the close SEIU ties to Obama. We need to be reminding the editors also about the close ties to ACORN and the Obama administration. Draw images at liberal rallies of the senate hearings being televised into the secrete back room deals that made Obamacare happen. Slogans like “The hearings will be televised even though the legislative vote wasn’t!” need to start appearing at rallies.
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
And finally the favorite Rule for Radicals. Applying this rule to Obama will be easy in that he has made it such a broad target. We need to be mentioning more and more how distant and elitist he seems for spending so much time on the golf course, and his constant back to back to back vacations that are coming up. SO MUCH POLITICAL HAY was made about Bush constantly being at his ranch we need to highlight the similarities with Obama. The 200 plus rounds of golf in less than 2 years was still more that Bush EVER did in eight! The telling of people to vacation on the gulf by Michelle while they jet set to the cape with a separate plane to take their dog. The White House parties with rock stars and water gun fights. Over and Over again these need to be brought into the conversation on blogs, T.V. and at rallies
And remember in the great spirit of My Pal Saul:
Keep the pressure on.
Consti.
P.S. I’d like to turn this post into a “journolist” of ideas we can use this coming November so please feel free to add your ideas in the comments section. And don’t forget the NEA has “Rules for Radicals” on its suggested reading list so get your copy today!

Nationally, Democrats say they intend to campaign against the tea party movement. But locally, Democratic officials and activists in at least four states now stand accused of collaborating with tea party candidates in an attempt to sabotage Republican challengers in some of the closest House races in the nation.

According to its analysis, 3,800 of the 4,200 voter signatures gathered to put Schneller on the ballot were collected by Democrats. And among those who helped the tea party candidate are Colleen Guiney, the chairwoman of the Swarthmore Democratic Party and a Lentz supporter, and Nicholas Allred, who works for the Swarthmore College Democrats.
“The recent flurry of last-minute filings by so-called ‘tea party candidates’ looks awfully suspicious when many of the candidates were recently registered Democrats and have filed to run in districts hundreds of miles away from their residences,” Florida Republican Party Chairman John Thrasher said.
Another example for you…..
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
Obama has been ridiculing the Republicans for doing the same stalling tactics that the dems did when conservatives were in power. Obama is ridiculing the right for making race an issue when every other word from his mouth is propagating racism. So lets turn that on it’s head and turn up the ridicule of Obama’s handling of the BP spill… golfing, vacationing, etc. while the worst oil disaster since Valdez ran through his fingers… lets have side by side video of Obama’s speech against Bush and Katrina next to his flabbergasting lame response to BP and “who’s ass to kick.” Lets take that ridicule and make it go viral on the net… hell distribute it to the news rooms across the country while we’re at it. Didn’t Obama say the oceans will recede when he was elected? Did he mean recede from the oil spill? Ridicule him for not implementing the disaster plan that was devised after Valdez and his letting BP handle the clean up. Bush didn’t cause the hurricane, but he responded to it in under 5 days where it took Obamanation over 70!! If that’s not ridicule the MSM passed over then my name is Dough Boy!
Ridicule Nancy for her comment about “draining the swamp” while we run off a list of the current investigations (approximately 9 demorats) by the ethics committee. The end of the commercial can be… so where’s the plug? (I envision her repeatedly saying “drain the swamp” followed by each scandal the ethics committee is dealing with… she would have stated it over 9 times then.)
How about ridiculing the WHOLE democratic party for fleeing “the one’s” support in the fall election. The ad could read: “if his own party doesn’t want to sit down or campaign with him who will…. Chaves, Ahmadinejad? (Who just offered to debate Obama face to face)
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
I haven’t a clue how to get ideas to the socialist opposition, but if I did, I would forward your ideas. Is there nobody with brains and know-how in the opposition to the machine?
These ads should be running NOW!

Sunday, the offer of “Free Therapy” is now past, below the fold, not unlike this very article. Although I had forgot the point of the reply by the time it was posted, now re-reading it, I again am interested in Consti’s response, should he not be working on his next (always engaging) article.
Should there come a day when comments are posted prior to everyone moving on to the next article, many may be interested in replies to such comments, thus making the article more relevant to more readers.
Consti,
1st of all, very entertaining and fun article.
Next, I feel dirty reading it. Everything you say is of course well thought, well reasoned and just plain smart. But it kinda reminds me of CS Lewis “Screwtape Letter’s”, where two demons discuss how to destroy the effective life of a Christian.
I admit I would never had bothered reading Alinsky except for your regular reference. He really was an evil and brilliant bastard wasn’t he.
Well now that I concede the effectiveness of the dark side, does that make us a light in the darkness or just another “ends justifies the means” game player?
Is the plain truth too bland as to influence? Have the ideas of the founders been so outshined by the lure of entitlements? Sadly at this point maybe yes.
OutRageToday.Com is offering “FreeTherapy” today for any lost souls seeking to deal the issues inspired by one “Consti”.
J Byron,
I don’t view it as being an “ends justifies the means” game player. I view it as leveling the playing field. Take for example the claims of racism laid upon the tea party. There are numerous examples of reverse racism against whites by black leaders. Yet they are never called on them in the press. Since we all know that blacks are incapable of being racist. So really what is to stop us from bringing these examples to the forefront? Are they not the truth? (Especially when caught on video!!) Shouldn’t we “play by the rules” as the Democrats so often admonish us to do? (They just don’t want us playing by THEIR rules!) I say fair is fair…
“If you can’t set a good example you have to serve as a bad one.” As my grandmother always told me.
The Conservative view of this being “dirty politics” that they are somehow above are ignorant in the reality of politics today. With American idol, big brother, mentality of the public the plane truth is VERY passé. I call it the “Paris Hilton” syndrome. Talk to any child under the age of 10 and they can name you all of Lady GaGa’s songs and dresses, but when you ask them who Samuel Adams is they reply “isn’t that they guy who made beer?” It’s all a distraction from the political problems of today. More people know that Lindsey Lohan had a derogatory comment on her finger nail than the secrete tax on gold in the financial bill Obama signed.
“Ignorance is bliss” isn’t just a phrase it’s a way of life for MANY people.
The “ends don’t justify the means”. The winner in the end rewrites history thereby glorifying the means, the ends, and all else.
I agree that the Republicans need to fight fire with fire. John McCain was shot down due to politicians dictating war policy on a mission level. He in turn acted just as stupidly in restraining the army at his command (conservative grass roots supporters) when running for President– wanting to stay above the fray of “dirty” politics. Nothing seen as unpleasant was to be mentioned about Obama by anyone in the McCain camp or Republican party, no matter how true or how damning the evidence. When McCain lost, he jumped into his Toyota SUV and rode back to his comfortable lifestyle. Meanwhile, we who believe in the conservative cause now find ourselves dictated to by the left that both limits and demeans us.
We conservatives need to show how outlandish the left has become and to share this with our friends. We need to support the Tea Party and all those that support smaller Federal government and less government spending. The Barney Frank hypocrites and tax dodging tax-hikers need to be exposed. The men and women that send their children to exclusive private schools while preventing poor parents from having a chance to send their children to these same schools should be exposed. The racist blacks should be shown for whom they truly are. The same is true for militant lesbians and gay men. And their is of course Al Gore’s reducing his carbon footprint through purchasing huge homes and flying around on his personal jet, in between back rubs. This election needs to be about who the Democrats truly are. Not their talking points, but their actions in relation to their talking points. When Americans realize how rotten the Democrats truly are, and how they do not only not live what they preach, but are often diametrically opposed to their preachings, the main stream media will be less likely to show unanimous support for such corrupt individuals. Who knows they might even start doing their job again.
Blowhard,
“We conservatives need to show how outlandish the left has become and to share this with our friends.” I would beg to differ just slightly… we need to throw these actions back in their face and make them defend the undefendable. The black panther issue is a perfect example. Everytime someone calls you racist mention the black panther video… show it…. post it… download it to your smartphone. When they talk about corrupt republicans bring up maxine waters, Rangle, franks… when they talk about out of touch republicans play the video of Pete Stark saying the government can pretty much do whatever it wants…
Remember rule 13 “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
