Consti here to answer the question of why my forehead is red. It’s from slapping it due to the staggering arrogance, ignorance of the loony left. I’ve seen comments in several places that go along the lines of “we need to get tough”, “We need to be in their faces” or my favorite “That is why I say it’s time to stop playing nice and start staking out positions that force Republicans to take a position and rhetorically defend policy positions that put them at odds with what the middle class wants and needs.” This attitude speaks VOLUMES to the attitude of arrogance and ignorance of the current disposition of the public. Let’s take a close look at this attitude of aggression.
President Obama acknowledged in his SOTU that the American public is tired of the partisan bickering in congress. Rightfully in my opinion he chastised BOTH parties for their tone. However, many on the far left believe that Obama has not gone far enough in his criticism of Republicans. I don’t know about you but I didn’t vote my representative into office to do his or her party’s bidding. I elected my representative to do the PEOPLES business. Not the party’s.
Let’s take for example the current actions of Harry Ried. Mr. Reid had BI-PARTISAN support for a jobs bill that would have given Obama a legislative win, and the appearance of actually doing something for the public. To the surprise of his party members, and the White House Mr. Reid yanked the bill from the floor to force Republicans to vote no on a watered down version that does little to actually create jobs. Now WHY would Mr. Reid do that?
Many on the far left have been calling for this aggression ever since Massachusetts when “The Lion” of the senate’s seat was yanked out from under them. Personally, I hope they take the advice of their far left compatriots and start this tactic. You see, they don’t get it.
The American people are tired and fed up with this type of partisanship. And the more the loopy left pushes the rest of the party in this direction the less the public will be willing to support them. So coming into a midterm election the party that is complaining about partisanship is propagating the issue. So let them whoop and holler about “the party of no”. When they are more than proving they are the party of “aggression.” The public sees this, and isn’t fooled any more by the rhetoric.
“But Consti it’s about time they FIGHT for the little guy!” Fight for the little guy? HA! If they are fighting for anything it’s for their re-election. Not the “common good” as they proclaim.
I didn’t put my elected representative in office to do “the party’s” work. I put them there to do OUR work. It’s about time they were reminded of that.
Vote for your fellow citizen, not your fellow party official.
Consti.

I agree with you, for the most part.
What I have also been encountering is not just the “loony Left” but also some “ridiculous Right” as well. Those who are not only grotesquely partisan but who also claim to attack partisanship not unlike Captain Ahab attacked Moby Dick only to get unwittingly tangled with and drowned by the behemoth. Then, to add insult to injury, those devoured constituents will beckon the remaining naive followers to join the party, to their certain demise.
Though Liberals and Conservatives will likely always be miles apart in ideology, we should at least agree to gather our harpoons and fight the partisan beast together so that the vacuum that is known for sucking boats down to the bottom can be destroyed. Then, Conservatives can be confident that when all that is remaining is issues and the correct way of viewing and handling them, the Conservative cause would inevitably prevail. But until that is done, everything purely conservative will continue to be swallowed and regurgetated by the media and we will be forever misrepresented.
