Greetings! Consti here in the Secret Underground Bunker control room where work on November has been hot and heavy. It seems lately like there is one polarized issue after another cropping up in the headlines. So many in fact that it’s difficult to keep up with them all as they happen. My poor staff is overworked so I have given them the night off. Instead I’d like to draw your attention to two things: “The smell of fear, and the taste of desperation.”
The Smell of Fear.
In ’09 during the furor coming out of town hall meetings I made the comment in an article that the Democrats were imploding. The absolute derision that came in response to that comment was hilarious. Several people were flabbergasted that I could even consider the darlings of politics to fail. The arrogant tone coming from elected officials calling the American public, terrorists, hate mongers, racists, bigots, uninformed, uneducated, and anything else they could led me to this conclusion. Fast forward to 2010 this summer has ended and Democrats either phoned in their town hall meetings or didn’t have them altogether. Why was that? (Sniff-sniff)
Still the Democrats have been in denial. You need look no further than Nancy Pelosi’s recent comments about Democratic landslides this cycle. And those of John Kerry when he said “We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” In the interview, Kerry added that voters should be mad at stonewalling Republicans and “big money” Now doesn’t that sound just like a broken record? Especially considering his flip-flop on the bush tax cuts due to expire. (He was against them before he was for them.) Tax cuts that benefit his wife the heiress to the Heinz fortune and let’s not forget this is the man that registered his boat in Road Island to avoid paying Massachusetts taxes.
Wasn’t it candidate Obama that said people cling to their guns and bibles out of fear? They know that they can’t always blame Bush and the Republicans so they need another villain. And that villain is the American public. The American people are just too stupid to know what’s good for them. And it astounds Democrats that we don’t understand that. That’s what Obama czar and close friend Cass Sunstein claims that there is too much Homer Simpson in the average citizen which prevents them from making right choices on things such as food, in addition to the fact that the ‘Homer Simpson’ in us makes us easily manipulated by the progressive elitists. You know like San Francisco banning toys in happy meals because they make kids fat. (Sniff-sniff)
The rats are fleeing the sinking “ship of state” that Obama mans the helm of. He has steered a course of action over the last two years brining us into dangerous uncharted waters. And the Democrats are trying to pull out the swords that they fell on for him. Aware that their stock has taken the same tumble as home values, Congress’ most vulnerable Democrats are declaring their independence from their party’s agenda in Facebook profiles, television advertisements, news interviews and campaign websites leading up to the Nov. 2 election.
Need more proof that the Democrats are imploding? How about Bill Owens (D) claims that he voted with Republicans 63% of the time in a recent campaign ad? Actually based on his record he voted with Democrats 93% of the time, but facts are pesky things politicians like to ignore. Or the fact that most Democrats are not mentioning that they are Democrats in their campaign commercials?
Don’t believe me? They didn’t in ’09 either. So let’s also add some of the biggest rats to flee the ship. Christina Romer, Peter Orszag (the architects of the stimulus), Defense Secretary Robert Gates, David Axelrod, General James Jones, Larry Summers, and the man behind the throne Rahm Emanuel. There is even talk that White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, has been mentioned in the past few weeks in connection with a range of jobs, including White House adviser or chairman of the Democratic national committee, which runs the party.
Even the Republicans are starting to smell of fear. (Just not as much.) Two of the established Republicans that had lost to the tea-party candidate in their primary are running write in campaigns. There was the sharp rebuke of O’Donnel during the primary only for the GOP to scramble to assure the base that they would fund her. The dirt digging in that primary only served to strengthen her support.
Still don’t think the Democrats are reeking of fear? How about Joe “Bite Me” Biden claiming that the Republicans would sue to stop social security like they are trying to with Obamacare?
For a politician Joe Biden is retarded. The government doesn’t “mandate” you pay for social security they tax you for it! Social security is not a mandate to buy a third party product it’s a form of taxation. Now mind you the Democrats had no problem accusing the Republicans in ’09 of fear mongering, but really what did “Bite Me” just do? (BTW didn’t the Democrats already try this with Newt Gingrich when he wanted to fix Social Security? Something about it “withering on the vine” comes to mind.) (Sniff-sniff)
“But Consti where’s the taste of desperate? People only talk about it but I don’t see it!” Well class I will show that to you in my next article. For now let me close with this; Democrats have run congress since 2006 yet they continue to blame the economy and job losses on Bush. The American public may be slow to action but they are far from stupid. And the public knows that the Democrats have held the purse strings. Barney Frank can claim he didn’t have anything to do with the sub-prime mortgage meltdown. But history (read as facts) tells us different and the public is tired of smelling the swamp that was supposed to be drained by now. (Sniff-sniff)
Hold on to your “change” that Obama left you with because there’s “hope” coming in November.
