The Global Warming Hoax (or Uncle Sam Wants YOU to Pay a Global Energy Tax)

His movie, An Inconvenient Truth (which, by the way, made him an entirely convenient amount of money), demonstrates his stance on the issue of global warming. As far as documentaries go, it s a decent flick, except for being infiltrated with hyperbole while utilizing info from only one side of the debate.

I am not going to discuss my opinions today of whether or not I think the earth is getting warmer (for the record, I believe, based on tons of research, that it isn t, at least not by mankind or enough for a global panic). Nor am I going to discuss the fact that the collective liberal media generally only cover the side of this debate that involves scientists who think along the lines of pending warming-caused disaster, hence creating an illusion that ninety percent of “experts” are on board. That any scientist who opposes the theory is a “junk” scientist at best, a moron at worst and is simply outnumbered. No, I will discuss these farces in another article. Today I am going to discuss that global warming is really a hoax that has been invented and exploited for the primary purpose of creating an international tax of obscene proportions. A tax that you and I will have to pay out the nose.

Even if, for the sake of argument, there is any reality in the claim, at the very least it has been exaggerated so that our fears can be multiplied. And when fear and panic are increased, the decrease in rationale and common sense are soon to follow. I even know of a person who threw out her microwave because someone had convinced her that she was being slowly radiated to death every time she nuked a plate of meat loaf! In that case, I ll see if I can crack open my piggy bank, go to Sears and buy a dozen of those babies and ship ‘˜em off to Afghanistan with a few hundred Qabuli Palau (Afghan delicacy) tv dinners frozen in dry ice. I d be able to have the same effect as a suicide bomber, but without the explosion!

Ridiculous, right? Of course. Yet the proactive scheme for forcing high energy taxes on every American by way of a global warming scare is just as ridiculous though, unfortunately, also quite serious.

On the surface it sounds innocent enough. You may have even heard the term “Cap and Trade”. I would be more prone to call it “Decapitate and Discard”, but that s me. Anyway, many people have no idea what it is or what it s about. And of those few who are fairly knowledgeable, they have largely been misinformed as shown by this video. Our government has a vested interest in pushing this iceberg-melting, polar-bears-clinging-to-dear-life agenda. And the basis for that agenda is the Who s Your Daddy basis of all agendas ‘“ money. Vice President Gore has already heard quite a few “cha chings” and, as a result (or perhaps in spite of it), was able to purchase his huge mansion in Tennessee for $2.3 million and it doesn t sound like he gives the hoot of a globally-warmed owl about ecology either. This is further supported by the fact that he owns a fleet of “gas guzzlers” (stats on this video are approximately a year old, but you get the point). Don t get me wrong, it s not the fact that he has money that bothers me. Obtaining money for many is part of the American Dream. But the hypocrisy is staggering.

So there is your own version of “an inconvenient truth”. The one that tells you ‘“ the America-loving, law-abiding citizen ‘“ that a handful of domestic aristocrats are in cahoots with foreign dignitaries and are attempting to oppress you with sky-high international energy costs on top of outrageous taxes that we are already paying and are being warned that we will be paying.

I don t know about you. But for me, it just doesn t hold water.

I have written articles on this very subject in the past. I’m glad to see that at least you see the value of doing your share. Unfortunately a lot of people, most people, do not. If we all did, it would far outwiegh the damage done by a few. If we put out money behind it and used market forces, we could do it. But that would mean changing our habits, and look around you, without a major factor forcing that change, how likely is it?

How often do you see a peron who is obviously obese scarfing down crap food? All that being a healthy (not skinny) weight would involve is a change of habit. But that’s work and sacrifice, and that is something the American public seems unwilling to do. It is easirer to complain about it and push the risks out to others.

Perhaps you should convert your comment into an article!

If it makes you feel better, I am a habitual recycler. I am eco-conscious. There are already a lot of rules in place to mandate ecological issues.

Having said this, I know for a fact that their motives are much more sinister. If you haven’t already, please click on the 2 links under Cap and Trade and video. This will give you a better idea of what they are doing. Also, Al Gore is in a perfect position to be an example. But guess what, he DOESN’T CARE. He is more concerned with comfort than he is principle.

The truth is that we are all guilty of squandering natural resources. The point of the green movement is that we all need to do our share and to be ecologically responsible. Unfortunately, many choose not to because until something happens to FORCE them to change, they won’t. Whether that something is high gas prices, government intervention, or ecological disaster, that something has to make it “inconvenient” to follow the current path they are taking. I would rather not wait for an ecological distater, would you? It is not for me, or any one person, to write checks our planet, its creatures and our future generations to have to pay for.

The world is only getting more and more populated by humans, which means that our impact will only continue to grow along with it. To believe that we have had NO damaging effects on this planet, whether it is through global warming or not, is just plain pig-headed. What gave us the right to trash this planet and to exterminate life on it without regard to anything but our own convenience. Much of what we do in industrial society, our standard of living, is far beyond basic survival (which is the only thing we have the right to concern ourselves with.) It has everything to do with ease, luxury, and convenience. Where did we gain the right to destroy so that we can have TV, cars that are capable of speeds and feats of strength they will never be used for, houses that are larger than the needs of families double what they are used for?

Just because we CAN does not mean we SHOULD and that we have the ABSOLUTE RIGHT to do so. And to levy the DEATH PENALTY on other creatures while we do. All it takes is a little more responsibility and realistic expectations on the part of all… The point of the movie and the ecology movement is to get people to care enough to see this and to act on it.

Laura,

As I discussed within the context of my post, there are scientists on both side of the issue who totally disagree. Who you choose to believe is obviously your prerogative. But I generally conduct research before placing myself on the hot seat, as evidenced by the multitude of links I provided. One thing I am certain of is that this whole subject has been exploited for a particular purpose other than an ecologically-sensitive one. Perhaps you should aim your ire at the Al Gore types – the ones who preach calamity while collecting your hard-earned dollars, then turn around and drive three cars that many environmentally-conscious people would regard as hazardous.

Oh, and speaking of the “squandering of resources”, the entities most responsible for this are the ones who are pushing this agenda in the first place.

Must be nice to look at the facts and create your own relaity just by saying “I don’t believe.” The consequesnces of our actions are cumulative and it is not us that will be paying the price- it is our children and our children’s children. Why are those, like the GOP, who are so concerned about leaving these future Americans in debt (but aren’t when it comes to funding unnecessary wars or tax cuts) so unconcerned with making sure that there is a world capable of giving them a good quality of life?

No global warming? Please! Even if there isn’t ,believing that there are no ecological consequences to our greedy squandering of resources ,and our improper disposal of them when we are finished, is at worst naive and denial at work. At worst, it is a callous disregard for the ultimate survial of all mankind, as well as the earth and its creatures , so that people don’t have to change their habits and pay a little more for gas.

Great article and I believe that global warming is a manufactured hoax. Didn’t believe it the first time I heard and don’t believe it now.
