You are here: Home > 2010 Election, 2012 Candidates, 2012 election, Current Events, political news, republicans > Stupidity knows no bounds.

Consti coming to you from the bunker communication room where we are receiving word that Republican Jim Bunning of Kentucky has joined the ranks of those politicians that just still don’t get it. With all the distractions over the horse pill called Healthcare reform little attention still has been given to the real problems facing the public.

Let’s start with a little recap. With unemployment still painfully high for many Americans the only legislative hope was eviscerated By Mr. Harry Reid leaving many including the White House wondering why the legislation was scrapped for a weaker version. Add to the misery the weather on the east coast and the shuttering of businesses there during the storms. Already we are being prepared for terrible job numbers to be released due to “global warming” on the east coast.

So while all eyes are focused on the dog and pony show of Health Care the economic recovery is lagging thanks to the continuing unemployment situation. A recent article outlines this pain further noting that more Americans are relying on government assistance now than ever before. Something I am sure some would welcome, but most find disastrous for this administration. What does it say about a sitting President when so large a portion of the public needs be on a hand out?

Now along comes Republican Jim Bunning. While I can understand his reasoning I do not agree with the timing or logic frankly. The reason representative Bunning is holding up the legislation in question is that it will add to the deficit. Now let me be clear here for my detractors. I am not for deficit spending UNLESS it is not a long term entitlement (Health Care/ Medicare) and serves the people as a whole more than a specific group (Unemployment). So here we have another hit on the American public in its time of need. Instead of helping those who actually need it when it’s needed legislation has been stalled.

“But Consti how can you be for this legislation when it adds to the deficit?” Well that’s simple kids. It’s not a LONG TERM ENTITLEMENT. As it was the legislation was watered down by the Democrats and doesn’t really do much to add to jobs according to the CBO. If we HAVE to add to the deficit it should be for a short term solution to unemployment. Not a long term entitlement federalizing a large portion of our economy.

The short of the long of it is that career politicians have lost touch with the American public’s needs and concerns which are going IGNORED.

Point out stupidity kids where ever and whenever possible.

Consti.

It is, and I stand by it. You don’t win a heavy Weight fight by putting a light weight in the ring.

I thought you would be smart enough to know that even the most hated bitter opponants can conceed a valid point or a good move. Don’t worry, I still rank you only slightly above the stuff you scrape off the bottom of your shoes. Still, dosen’t mean that from time to time you can’t make a good point, and in this case you did. I’m sure you’re next post or mine will have us trading shots again, but as far as this one goes, you’re right. I thought it was worth putting out these that at least as far as this post is concerned you and I agree. Take it for what it’s worth.

Dough boy,

Take it as you like.

” I will be as cruel or more so than these so called conservative moral men have been, and I will delight in their misery.”

That is what you said correct?

I was trying to give you a complement. It was a good article and I agreed with it. If this is the attitude you want to take though the hell with you.

Typical conservative, know the least and knot it the loudest.

Dough boy,

Just because there is an R next to my name doesn’t mean I am a drone for the party like many suggest or are themselves. I want the best person for the job of doing THE PEOPLES work. Not the party.Point out stupidity whenever and where ever possible is the family motto.

As for him running for re-election after this little political play it would be ignorant for him to do so.

No Name,

You and I usually dont agree on anything. On this, I agree with you. Credit where credit is due. You are spot on with this one. Well done.

Oh, just a point of fact, Bunning isn’t running for re-election. Not trying to show you up, just pointing it out.

lol… 5 minutes after posting this article Bunning changed his mind. Now the legislation appears to be cleared. Was this simple political theater or did someone tell him that he wouldn’t be re-elected because of it?
