Thanks to a once-in-a-century weather occurrence, our Capitol has been closed for a week. This brought cheers from Republicans because when Congress can’t work, Democrats can’t spend more money.
How pathetic is it that the only force powerful enough to stop the spending is an act of God?
Perhaps I should take comfort in the fact that God is still bigger than trillion dollar deficits. Unfortunately, my country is not run by God, only by people of little worth with insatiable greed and self-aggrandizement. Will this forced vacation give the Senate and Congress time to stop and think about the perils of their actions? Or will they simply use this time to plan and conspire their next political move? Some answers are so obvious that it makes a waste of rhetorical questions. We all know that the Democrats are purely interested in using class warfare to create a state imposed equality. An equality where they remain “first among equals.” Where those who work harder are rewarded with punitive punishment and those that do nothing and feed off the rest are rewarded for their parasitic lifestyle. This is the way of the Democrat. This is not the way of America. Our freedom is what made us great. Not our kindness. Not our diversity. Certainly not our social programs. Taking money or opportunity from one to give to another- rather than to provide for the one being taxed- is legally and morally wrong.
This country was founded on the principle of the injustice of taxation without representation and now our ruling party is in power because so many of their constituents receive representation without taxation.

The GOP race is now a field of 4 with only Romney, Gingrich, Paul, & Santorum still standing. Who will be the next candidate to exit the race & who will emerge as the eminent GOP nominee?
