in Barack Obama,Current Events,Democratic Party

This whole issue about Obama addressing the students is controversial of course. This is due mostly to the suggested lesson plan for teachers based on the speech. At first the plan suggested students write letters to themselves on how they can ‘Help the president achieve his goals’. This has since been changed after the Whitehouse and educators phones across the country melted from ticked off parents. Additionally the end run around local school boards and parents, going directly to the students is suspicious at best, Insidious and nefarious at worst. Now if Obama s speech is purely to promote education and encourage students to stay in school and study hard that is fine. He wouldn t be the first president to do so. However, he is the first president to have such a radical lesson plan associate with his speech.

Well with people like William Ayers consulting the president I am not surprised at the uproar over the cult of personality charge. Even though William Ayers said this in March; “Again and again, we have political leaders who weigh in on what’s appropriate to teach and who’s appropriate to teach,’ Ayers himself is controversial, a former member of the Weather Underground. An American terrorist group who bombed federal buildings, a true 60 s radical. There is enough written about him today that I won t go into detail as that is not my purpose for this blog. Google his name and you will see plenty.

I believe what has frightened parents the most is the age range for these radical ideas in the lesson plan. Obviously they are targeting the young, uninformed minds of children. We as a people are used to radical college professors and their antics. There have been tons of stories about liberal biases in college. I took some time today and did a quick scan of some old headlines. I have included these below for your amusement and further education. What is disturbing is that a private 4 year college can cost $25,143 (up 5.9 percent from last year) and a public college education is Public four-year $6,585 (up 6.4 percent from last year). All that money so your child can take Venezuelan basket weaving with Hugo Chaves. Or Indoctrination to Homosexuality class (see below) and earn extra credit for burning the flag.  There are even courses in the political, socio-economic impacts of Star Trek. Whatever happened to the 3 R s?

The biggest fear for parents I guess is that they don t know what the President is going to tell their kids. And I believe this shows a deep underlying mistrust in Obama that a lot of people are just waking up to. We are only 9 months into this and already things do not look good. Kids don t need to worry about how they can help the president pass healthcare or balance the budget. They need to learn algebra and writing; unfortunately the dumbing down of the curriculum has been going of for years. To top it all off with a cherry it is the parents responsibility to discuss these things with their child. Not the President of the PTA.

Still paying my student loan after all these years.

Ayers: Colo. professor was fired in `witch hunt’

 Pasted from <http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D96O4FPG0&show_article=1>

DENVER (AP) – William Ayers, the former Weather Underground radical whose past made him a lightning rod in the 2008 presidential campaign, said Thursday that fired Colorado professor Ward Churchill became the victim of a “witch hunt” after comparing Sept. 11 victims to a Nazi.

Ayers is now an education professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago and an outspoken critic of intimidation of professors.

“Again and again, we have political leaders who weigh in on what’s appropriate to teach and who’s appropriate to teach,” Ayers said Thursday.

Metro State Prof Stays Silent, On The Job

Metro State College is investigating a professor who asked students to write an essay critical of Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. One student said the instructor singled out Republican students in the class and allowed others to ridicule them.

Barber shared the class’ first assignment with CBS4 Wednesday. Hallam asked students to write an essay to contradict what he called the ‘fairy tale image of Palin’ presented at the Republican National Convention.

‘HOSTILE’ GEORGE WASHINGTON

 Pasted from <http://www.nypost.com/seven/05072007/postopinion/opedcolumnists/hostile

WALTER Kehowski, a math professor at Glendale Community College in Arizona’s Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD), wishes he’d never e-mailed his fellow employees Thanksgiving greetings last November.

While reading a Web log, Kehowski found George Washington’s “Thanksgiving Day Proclamation of 1789″ and decided to send it along to the Maricopa community the day before Thanksgiving, 2006. Using an e-mail address commonly used to send out announcements, Kehowski e-mailed the text of the proclamation – and a link to the Web page on which he’d found it . . . on Pat Buchanan’s site.

A holiday greeting containing a link to a blog, which readers can either visit or simply ignore, doesn’t fit any definition of harassment. Yet, instead of dismissing the bogus allegations, the MCCCD administration ruled that Kehowski had violated the district’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy and technology policies that ban e-mails that are unsolicited or not work-related.

Yet in a single month (March 2007) individuals used the same listserv to send e-mails ads on how to purchase goats for Ugandan orphans and reminders on the health benefits of bananas – hardly work-related info.

Crossing a Line

”I enjoy writing things that inflame, mock and infuriate the right,” Deborah Frisch said in an e-mail interview Sunday in response to a question about her online activities. By any measure, she’s achieving her goals — and she’s also out of a job.

Frisch posted a comment last week on Protein Wisdom, a Web site known for its no holding back conservative commentary, frequently with considerable mocking of liberal academics and ideas. Frisch, an adjunct lecturer at the University of Arizona until this weekend, said in the posting that she would not be sad if the 2-year old child of the site’s founder, Jeff Goldstein, was “Jon Benet Ramseyed,” and she reportedly posted other questions of the sort a Ramsey-inspired attacker might ask. (Goldstein lives in Colorado, where Ramsey was killed.)

‘How to be Gay’ course draws fire at Michigan

 Pasted from <http://washingtontimes.com/news/2003/aug/18/20030818-122317-3268r/>

A course called “How to be Gay: Male Homosexuality and Initiation,” scheduled this fall, has reignited a culture war at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

A family-values lobbyist is leading public opposition to the self-proclaimed “uncompromising political militancy” of the professor who teaches “lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender.”

The lobbyist, Gary Glenn, says professor David M. Halperin and the university “are guilty of perpetrating a fraud against UM students and the people of Michigan [with] propaganda statements about so-called cultural studies and academic freedom” as they promote “queer studies” at taxpayer expense.

College Professor Says “Kill The President” Was Just An Exercise

 Pasted from <http://www.ktvu.com/news/2325459/detail.html>

The whole idea, Ballou said, was for students to experience “the wave of fear and paranoia” many U.S. citizens have of their government, and merely typing the words “kill the president” let alone hitting the “send” button on their computer, serves as an object lesson in that fear.

FBI To Meet With Professor Pianka

 Pasted from <http://www.nhne.org/news/NewsArticlesArchive/tabid/400/articleType/ArticleView

The controversy surrounds comments made during two recent speeches in which Pianka discussed the need for population control and the impending disease pandemic that might well just take care of it. Some heard the comments as simply a warning. To others, however, it sounded like Pianka was advocating the use of deadly viruses to kill off millions of people.

Consti has written 85 awesome articles for us.

I was born and raised in two places. The Midwest and the west coast. You can say I have a mid-west core with a west-coast mentality. I was a Cub Scout, a Boy Scout, A Scout Leader, and a volunteer so I learned my civic duty at an early age. Well before mandated school curriculum required me to. Long before a sitting President made it "cool" and definitely before he "required" it of us. I am a product of the Public Screwl System!! I am like you a citizen of the U.S. I get up, go to work, come home, kiss the fiance pet my cats, have dinner, play Xbox, love the fiance, and go to bed. I pay my taxes, my healthcare, my car payment, rent, power, and the rest of my bills just like you. The difference you might ask is I use my voice to bring to light the corruption, hypocrisy, greed, graft, miss-management, and utter shenanigans of the government in power. Who so ever that should be. Like the late great Mark Twain, I am for the country, not it's institutions. I am for the Constitution, not the talking heads on T.V. I am for the people of this great country, not the power structure that is. The truth my friends is an ugly thing. However, only the truth will set you free. So look upon the face of the beast with me and laugh my friends. For that is what the face of truth requires. Humor. The reason I blog about politics and our American society is it is my way of participating in the dialog and democratic process that is our Republic. I urge all of you reading this to play your part in our society and make your voice heard. Which ever side of the political spectrum you are on. The government is not the boss, you the public are. Make use of it. I hope you find something here that makes you smile or laugh. If you do then I have done my job. If you find something here that makes you think or change your mind then I am truly blessed. Either way my friend let's buy the ticket and take the ride as Hunter S. Thompson said so eloquently.

*******Update************
So here is the link to a video of school age children (not teens) being taught to sing a song praising Obamma. Cute kids being indoctrinated politically. The teachers and Principal should be fired. If Religion is not allowed in the class neither should politics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zrsl8o4ZPo

This was in conjunction with an approved vist by an author Charisse Carney-Nunes who made the video. Carney-Nunes is senior vice president of The Jamestown Project, ‘the award-winning author of the children s books, I Am Barack Obama (2009), € and according to her biography, ‘a graduate of Harvard Law School, where she was a schoolmate of President Obama. €

The video that she taped shows her book featured on an easel next to the children. She promotes her book as a tool that ‘allows children to see themselves through the inspirational story of President Obama growing up as an ordinary child asking, Who will change the world? Ultimately, he realizes that he will. €

She has been traveling the country spreading this to other schools as well. This is disgraceful.
