Today while waiting for his tire to be changed, a common customer who brings in fleet vehicles from his employer- a mid size construction company- and I were just killing time with some small talk. His right arm is in a contraption and had obviously been injured. His arm was mangled when he was driving home and a man ran across the street in front of his vehicle. When he swerved to miss the man, his Yukon flipped over and his left arm was trapped under the vehicle as it lay on its side. As he lay there trapped in semi consciousness his last memory before passing out from blood loss was the two “undocumented workers” stealing his keys and cell phone.

Thanks for the correction. You are right. They are planning on putting this on a ballot in the fall. I must have confused that article with the one I pulled the 70% number from.
Consti – I hate to burst your bubble, seeing as how you’re on such a roll with this one, but the only people in Arizona who actually voted for legislation were those in the state legislature.
While it is true that 70% of the population is in favor of this legislation, 70% of the people did not actually vote for the bill.

Who are you to tell the people of that state what laws they can or can’t pass? 70% of the people who are tired of living in fear. 70% of the population that want’s the feds to DO THEIR DAMNED JOB!! You know that really important one… protecting our borders.

Drug dealers? Give me a break. It’s simple. So simple even you should be able to grasp the concept. Come to this country with out the proper immigration steps break the law. Period.
Where do those illegals there come from? They come from Texas, Arizona, and California. I have no sympathy for them. Perhaps the problem is the corrupt government in Mexico. You know the place where the cops are actually REQUIRED to ask for papers. The place where they BEAT immigrants to death.
Again, you have no idea because you have not seen it first hand. Nor did you answer my question about the RANCHERS WHO WERE MURDERED by illigals crossing the border.
For a compassionate christian woman you sure don’t see to care that LEGAL CITIZNS are killed by them all the time.

You may find it hard to believe, but there are illegals here in GA too. Quite a few of them. Go to any building site and try to find a worker who speaks English. If people want illegals gone, then they need to either stop buying the goods that are produced with their cheap labor or be willing to pay more to allow employers to pay for legal workers. As long as there are jobs here for illegals, they will come. No jobs, no illegals.
Consumers can’t have it both ways. American-made goods made with legal American workers will always cost more than goods made in third-world countries with little better than slave labor or by illegal workers who are not subject to minimum wage and taxes. Unless we, as consumers, are willing to pay more for American-made goods from legal American workers, we are simply getting what we (don’t) pay for…
You may also find it hard to believe, but not every illegal is a murderer, drug dealer or thief. Not only that, but people like those you menti0n aren’t here to work or even sponge off the system, they are here to commit crime and will do so no matter what the law is or where they are. They don’t care about legal, illegal, immigration status. They are running from the law wherever they go, if they aren’t outright buying them off. Drug dealers come to this country because there is a market for their product–their illegal product. Maybe DRUGS are the problem, not the illegals. Maybe the fact that there is such a large number of consumers for drugs in the US is the problem. You claim to be pro-free market, you should understand the principle–No customers, no market. No market, no money to be made. No money, no dealers.
Mexican drug dealers, who learned from their US counterparts like the Crips and the Bloods, are not the same thing as a family crawling under the fence in order to find jobs. Legal profiling (and yes, police having the right to detain anyone who they think MIGHT be illegal at any time in order to check their papers-wait, didn’t the Nazis do that with Jews?- is legalized profiling, unless the police intend to stop non-Latinos as potential illegal aliens from Mexico) is not going to stop the drug trade. Attack the real problem–drugs, not create a legal breeding ground for human rights violations and harrassment of legalized US citizens.

That is a valid point. Citizens do commit crimes. However, illegal’s break the law just by coming here ILLEGALLY! And since they don’t give a damned about immigration laws to begin with what makes you seriously think they care about any other law? I don’t have to “profile” as you try to pin on me. I just spent 20+ years of my life in that state and know a little more than you about what goes on there. I’ve seen it first hand. And if you SERIOUSLY think that SB1070 creates a legal right to profile then you obviously haven’t read the legislation.
We have a saying in Phoenix. If it’s not nailed down, and chained it’s gone. We say that because it’s true.
It’s easy for someone like you who has never seen a van full of illegal’s speeding down the freeway to condemn this legislation. Again, you are not affected by the home invasions, kidnapping, and murder that takes place in AZ. You don’t see the ranchers getting killed by illegal’s crossing the border. You don’t know their families who are devastated. Where is your compassion for them? Oh yeah that’s right they are American citizens and as far as you are concerned “Deserve what they get for being greedy.”
Like I said, I know this because I have been there. Because I have known illegal’s and legal immigrants alike. I suggest you spend some time there, or talk to the 70% of the population that supports this legislation.
So much for states rights.
The point is that crime isn’t committed by just illegals… or blacks, or inner city youths, or any other group that society wants to make into the boogeyman in any given week as a scapegoat for all that is wrong with this country. White, Anglo-Saxon, protestant, middle-class, suburban/rural, American male citizens commit crimes too…

You have no idea because you don’t live there, and you haven’t seen first hand the impact illegal immigration has had there. You live in your comfortable culdysack and blame people for being victims and call the perpetrators the victim.
I’m sure if someone broke into your house and stole your property you would want the law enforced. Well when you enter this country illegally you break the law. Period. The reason for entry is moot.

The Pittsburgh case sounds like ‘The Defense of General Funston.’
And most if not all of the people who walked past the homeless man in NYC who bled to death, one of whom turned him over and saw the injuuries and blood yet did nothing, were American citizens….The two women who literally ran over a 2-year old child in the early morning in Riverdale, GA, but did not even stop because they were running late and thought they had run over a small animal, were both US citizens…The six teens and young adults who beat, tortured and murdered a 30 year-old mentally handicapped woman in a Pittsburgh suburb a few months ago after winning her friendship and luring her to an apartment were all born and bred Americans…
Cause only “undocumented workers” do wrong or take advantage of a bad situation and act in a crass manner, right?
