Michael Steele has been elected Chairman of the Republican National Convention. Steele is the former Maryland lieutenant governor who most recently was the head of GOPAC. During the presidential election, Steele was frequently seen as a captivting and confidant guest speaker on various political talk shows. Steele is a charismatic and intelligent individual who will bring strong leadership to the Republican Party. After winning the election Steele said he would work to build the party to an unprecedented level and warned: “For those of you who wish to obstruct, get ready to get knocked down.” I like the attitude and passion seen in the above statement.
Basically Steele is saying that he is the new sheriff in town and you can get behind him or get out of the way. Steele will be a strong and influential force that will energize the Republian base similar to the way Sarah Palin did during the preidential lection. This victory all but assures us that Michel Steele will run for President of the United States in 2012.
