If the election was held today, who would win?

I know the 2012 Presidential Election is some time away but I have (off the record and unofficially) asked random friends and family who would they vote for if the election was held today. It was an interesting mix of answers-ranging from “not for Obama”, anybody but Obama, not for Sarah Palin and not with anyone having the last name of Bush. That really doesn’t narrow the playing field much. I don’t think it fair to make assumptions about President Obama because his term is still in its infancy, I mean the man hasn’t been in office six months yet. There still is a lot of work to be done. For instance the economy is still a mess, of course I don’t need to tell anyone that.

Remember how much hope was held out for former New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani as being the next President in 2008 but he didn’t even make it through the primaries. It’s sad to see so many who start off as hopefuls, only not to make it through the crucial state primaries. I confess, I voted for Hilary Clinton in the September Presidential Primary. I felt she had what it took to run this country after he experience as my former U.S.
Senator here in New York for eight years. Time will only tell for our next election. Many names of hopefuls are already being thrown in the arena as possible candidates. Another mitigating factor is the outcome of President Obama’s first term in office and how much he will accomplish.

The 2012 Presidential Election is fast approaching

The White House

The GOP race is now a field of 4 with only Romney, Gingrich, Paul, & Santorum still standing. Who will be the next candidate to exit the race & who will emerge as the eminent GOP nominee?

Kimberly, As a Union worker you benefited the most under Reaganomics. every-time corp. posted a profit the union would step in and claim most of it….. between the unions and the Clinton is what set our country into the hole we find our self in now.

Obama would win by a small margin. Ask this questions six months down the road, and I think Palin would be the front runner.

yeah i have heard the same things. My friends straight GUFFAW (or choke) at the idea of Palin running — ironically the women are much more vehement than the men. And no one else is out there at all. Mitt Romney? Huckabee? Clinton … it looks to me as if the election is Obama’s to lose.

I know that conservatives have the bitter taste of defeat in their mouths and what irks me is that it has little to do with right and wrong, but with winning and losing. Bush was a terrible President. Period. In fact if there is someone who could list a few accomplishments, i would like to see them, because there is a lot of negative “Bushisms.” I fear that the conservative backlash will have little to do with putting someone better than Obama office and more with anybody but Obama. Just cuz. And that is not good for the country, only good for their (conservatives? Republicans?) … self-esteem i guess.
