I don’t understand the GOP strategy

in 2012 Candidates,2012 election,Barack Obama,Mitt Romney,Republican Party

The 2012 presidential election will center on three issues:

  1. The economy
  2. Health care reform
  3. Crony Capitalism

[NOTE: I have not included Foreign Policy in this analysis because Mitt Romney and Barack Obama have a nearly identical foreign policy]

Mittens Romney is being declared the presumptive GOP nominee already. If he ends up the nominee, Obama will be the president for four more years.

The Economy

In case you haven’t noticed, the economy appears to be moving in a positive direction. It’s is doing so because the privately-run Federal Reserve Bank is creating money out of thin air at a rate not seen before in its 99 year history. Banks, corporations and the well connected are feeling wealthier, and are investing those new dollars into the economy. Job creation is generally on the uptick, manufacturing is starting to rise, and before the summer is over the housing market will start to show signs of growth. The economy doesn’t have to be great, it just has to be getting better for Obama to win on this issue. Advantage Obama

Health Care Reform

Mitt Romney has no moral authority on repealing Obamacare. Hell, his administration in Massachusetts created it. With Mitt Romney as the GOP candidate, repealing Obamacare becomes a non issue. I’ll call this one a tie. Since the tie always goes to the incumbent, advantage Obama.

Crony Capitalism

As 60 Minutes pointed out recently, members of  both parties benefit from sweetheart insider deals. Romney’s past as the head of Bain Capital, plays into that story line. Sure Romney can push back, demonstrating how the Obama administration is staffed by former Goldman Sachs executives, but that line of attack will reveal that there is at least one degree of separation between Obama and the 1%. Romney is the 1%. Advantage Obama.

So I have to ask the GOP primary voters across the country, “What are you thinking?” Mitt Romney is probably the LEAST electable of the GOP candidates. The Obama administration through its Ministry of Propaganda  (commonly known as the main stream media), has manipulated you. It is time to wake up!

The 2012 Presidential Election is fast approaching

The White House

The GOP race is now a field of 4 with only Romney, Gingrich, Paul, & Santorum still standing. Who will be the next candidate to exit the race & who will emerge as the eminent GOP nominee?

There’s only one hope for the Republican party in 2012, and it’s a slim one. Basically, they’d have to stop being a pile of lying, thieving, evil motherfuckers. And they’d have to do it soon enough for word to get around, so that they’d get votes outside of the brain-dead chumps who get suckered by the right-wing propaganda machine. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem likely, so Americans are forced to vote for Not Evil yet again in 2012. It would be nice of some day we could have two parties full of decent human beings, but until some of you old windbags die off I just don’t see that happening.

Excellent article. Obama has been a decent President, but like anyone else, he has weak spots. Besides healthcare, crony capitalism, and the economy, I’d add excessive spending. However, Romney will not be able to capitalize on these areas. Romney is the king of bailouts, instituted Romneycare in Massachusetts, and there is no evidence that he can create jobs. I foresee Obama being re-elected.

BRAVO! That’s exactly the type of opinion i have on Obama. Obama should win. He is the most beneficial leader so far, that i’ve heard of. Don’t know much about politics but America! Please trust Obama… Give him a second chance! You know it’s not that easy to change the economy so fast, especially if the previous President screwed it all up for us Americans! Obama is trying to get hold of the economy, and you are right, the President is not the one responsible for creating jobs…. He just can’t do that! I wish everyone has the common sense to know that sort of thing….
We want you again, Obama!

As you already exopressed. Mitt Romney will win the nomination for the Republican Party. However, On the issue, Romney cannot beat Obama. Obama will be reelected for two reasons: One, his foreign policy and two he is not overcoming Bushe’s bad administration and will do better in his second term. America peopple need to understand that the President does not create jobs. He can provide the means by which jobs can be created. And, Obama is already doing that. To this end I will say: America give Obama a second term.

You fail to look at the real issue within the GOP field. There isn’t a single electable candidate left. Let’s look at all of them, you’ve already explained the issues with Romney, so I’ll skip over him. Let’s go to the guy who is currently running second. Ron Paul: Although he would actually garner a bit of the independent vote, the GOP and mainstream republicans would never back him, so you would see that vote split giving Obama the victory. Newt Gingrich: Newt Gingrich would get almost none of the independent vote and zero democratic vote. Although he would challenge, he is too polarizing within his own party that he would never get the victory. Rick Santorum isn’t getting the nomination, he had a good campaign in Iowa, which is the only reason he did well there. Huntsman is the same as Santorum, he had a good campaign in New Hampshire, but will never get the nomination. That leaves one final candidate, Rick Perry. His campaign is going to come down to South Carolina, he needs to finish in the top 3 there, or else he will end his campaign. Even if he is successful, his campaign is still on the ropes. If he does manage to get back into the race and gets the nomination, he is going to have to go up against the Obama campaign which won’t have just been torn apart during the primary process. Additionally, Perry runs into the same issues as Gingrich. Although he would get the backing of mainstream republicans and the GOP, he would struggle with the independent vote and pulling anyone from the left. If the GOP field is smart, they get out now and allow Romney the nomination since it seems only certain that he will get it. This way the GOP can turn their focus on Obama and prepare a campaign for Romney that might stand a chance, but as long as the candidates are all tearing each other apart with negative campaign ads, they are doing the Obama campaigns work for them.

These politics are rigged. The Iowa poll had a change of over 2,000 votes in the last couple of minutes in Romney’s favor. It’s bizarre.

I was discussing this very issue last Friday night with someone. I was telling him that USA liberals as a whole don’t need to fear a Romney Administration (if, as you pointed out, he even miraculously gets in) any more than California liberals in particular needed to fear a Schwarzenegger Administration. Well, we all know how conservative the Governator turned out to be (not), and Romney is the same breed of politician. Sure, he might lean a little more to the right on SOME issues, being a mormon and all, but people need to stop being duped and see him for what he is: An Establishment lackey who dons a conservative costume.
