The three front runners for the GOP nomination, this early in the game, are Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.
According to Public Policy Poling newest poll in Iowa, Ron Paul has 24%, Mitt Romney, 20%, Newt Gingrich, 13%. In New Hampshire, Romney has 36%, Ron Paul, 21%; Newt Gingrich, 13%.
And as candidates, they are just dandy, that is, if you are one of those no good rascals who hates America, and wants to see our good country decline, and see our beloved America fall on her knees and cry. If you are a patriot, these three goofs make you want to shake your head.
Dr. Ron, the Newtster and Mitt –What else should one expect from the GOP, the party that is leading America backwards? The GOP party’s polices are designed to do one thing, and one thing only, to make the rich richer at the expense of the middle class.
As real incomes in America have declined, America has declined, the standard of living for Americans has declined, the size of the middle class has declined. And yes, poverty has increased, while America has declined.
Yes, the American Middle Class is being wiped out. America is shrinking — “the inequalities on wealth distribution (has lead America) to economic decline.”
The GOP is the party for taking America backwards. It is the backward party. The GOP is the POG, the Party of Goofs. Just look at its current front runners for the 2012 Presidential Nomination, three big goofs.
Doc Ron is Doctor Fifty-Fifty. His prescription for America is fifty percent good medicine and fifty percent pure quackery. His put America first, America taking care of America, keeping our troops home to defend our borders, and keeping out of other people’s business, and his don’t stir up and start stuff over there — make for good sound doctor’s advice. This is channeling George Washington!
His –”Hey, you, guy? I know you’re an American. But if you think Uncle Sam’s going to help educate your kid, by supporting public schools — not if I’m elected President. And you old people, clinging to your social security? You wait and see what I have planned for you. It’s called starvation. And you middle class cry babies? I don’t like NAFTA. NAFTA helps foreigners. But if you think for one minute that I’m going to help you against the corporate interest that wants to pay you less for your labor? And wants to squeeze you? You’ve got the wrong man. The Doc’s social polices are quack medicine, the kind that will make the patient so sick, that she just might never recover, and the patient is America.
Newt. The Newtster. Mr. Newt Gingrich. Wasn’t he given the boot by his Republican House colleagues? Wasn’t it a matter of ethics, immorality and a lack of principles? Wasn’t the man shown to be a hypocrite and a loser? He wasn’t very popular with his own guys, wasn’t he? Wasn’t he told that if he didn’t retire as House Speaker, he could be kicked out of his party job? Humiliated? Shamed? Well, it’s hard to shame a politician, isn’t it? The 1990′s Newt was a phony, and the 2012 Newt is even phonier. The Newt, the main water boy for the elite corporate interest, main agenda is to cut corporate taxes even lower, to let America go into steep decline, even faster.
From Howard Gleckman, writing in Forbes, “Newt Gingrich is proposing a massive tax cut aimed at the highest-earning American households. Gingrich’s plan would add about $1 trillion to the federal deficit in a single year. And while most of the nation’s lowest-income families would get no benefit from these tax cuts, the top 0.1 percent (who make an average of more than $8 million) would get about a quarter of the windfall, according to new estimates by my colleagues at the Tax Policy Center.”
Mitt Romney comes across as a phony. His stage mannerisms are awkward and he looks like Mister Plastic Face and Mouth. His jaws keep moving and his mouth keeps talking, when his brain stops thinking. Mister Mitt — “I wasn’t for public health care until it became unpopular with the party activists. I don’t know where anybody heard that.” Mister Mitt — “don’t pin anything on me that I did, that is now unpopular, and once more, I didn’t do what I did.” But Mr Romney has definite ideas. He knows how he want to lead America, and what a Mitt Romney Administration would be like. “In Mitt Romney’s America, Washington exists to serve the interests of Wall Street.”
In the 1960s, when the US poverty rate was about 30%, a lot of forward looking people got busy, trying to help those Americans among us who were suffering. A little progress was being made, until the 1980s and the Reagan Revolution, which started America on the road to ruin. Reagan’s economics, which George H.W. Bush properly labeled as voodoo economics, divided Americans into the “you’s” and the “me’s” And “what’s good for me,” trumped “what’s good for you,” and left “what’s good for America” in the dust. The poverty rate is now at 50%.
From the Las Vegas Sun – “Years of Republican policies have virtually destroyed the middle class and created immeasurable wealth to the top 2 percent, and yet they insist on keeping tax loopholes and subsidies flowing to major corporations while maintaining that Americans who live below the poverty level should be forced to pay their share. If this isn’t hypocrisy, what is?”
I won’t let Democrats off for not rallying and fighting these GOP policies. Democratic Presidents and Congresses have not done enough to rally America, and the middle class, to save America, which is slowly sliding toward a 95% poverty rate. And of course middle class America shares in the blame for its decline, by buying the GOP/POG snake oil and drinking their nasty kool-aid.
Doctor Ron, the Newtster and Awkward Mitt — either one could get us to a 95% poverty rate real soon.
The 2012 Presidential Election is fast approaching

The GOP race is now a field of 4 with only Romney, Gingrich, Paul, & Santorum still standing. Who will be the next candidate to exit the race & who will emerge as the eminent GOP nominee?

THE WORLD HAS TOO END BECAUSE THE 1PERCENT THRIVES ON KEEPING HIS FOOT ON THE POOR AND TRUELY ENJOYS BEING UNFAIR
It is okay that President Obama has brought change in the US but what is it for?During his campaign in 2008 he made countless promises to his fellow Americans but if you look behind you find that 95 per cent of the promises have not yet been realized yet his term is heading to an end.He promised Americans that he would create millions of jobs for them in order to raise economy and social welfare, and yet the problem of unemployment is still unsolved,American soldiers are still suffering in IRAQ,and Afghanistan,he has failed to reconcile Israel and Palestine such that the crisis in between those nations are still grave..
In fact Barack Obama should remain a lawyer because he is good at arguing, talking a lot and convincing but he fears implementing what he says.He deserves no more term.
I would advise him to let Republicans take over because they are good at practicing their theories.
Hello, dfunzy.
You stated in this piece that the poverty rate in the 1960′s was about 30%. Not sure where you got that number, but according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics, the average poverty rate for the 1960′s was about 17 %…mostly because from 1960-1963, the poverty rate was as follows (all figures are approx):
1960 – 23%
1961 – 22%
1962 – 20%
1963 – 19.5%
1964 – 17%
After 1964, the poverty continued to decline as follows (again, all figures are approx):
1965 – 15%
1966 – 14.5%
1967 – 14%
1968 – 12%
1969 – 12.5%
The sharp decrease in poverty level has much less to do with LBJ’s War On Poverty and the implementation of welfare than it does with the United State’s increased involvement in Vietnam and the additional manufacturing that necessarily came with it. From 1970 – 2009, the poverty rate has never increased to over 15%. As a matter of fact, from 1982-1988, the poverty rate actually decreased from 15% to approx 12%, then began increasing again from 1989-2004 when they fell slightly and have only recently (2009) began to increase yet again…but still hasn’t crossed that 15% threshold.
If you’re going to post articles on here, be sure and do some thorough research before spouting your worthless statistics. You make it way too easy for those of us who have actually had to work at finding the facts before submitting a report to pick your material apart and throw real, solid facts in the way of your theories…and we get tired of doing your homework for you. On the other hand, it is a very good example of how the left continuously spouts the talking points of their leaders, allowing themselves to be led blindly by those whose sole purpose is to bleed them dry in order to keep their masses in subjection and themselves in power.
Thanks for making my point for me…

Those are the so-called official rates. Poverty in America was higher. But I am not going to argue with your pre-LBJ numbers. Those numbers are well below what the rates are now. Your other numbers about the recent and the current poverty rate are hogwash. The poverty rate is defined as the income a family of four needs to stay above the poverty line, and according to the U.S. Census Bureau numbers, nearly half the people of America have sunk into poverty. Also, war puts money into an economy, but in whose hands that money goes determines whether war reduces poverty. America is in an overseas war, or is in two wars, maybe three, right now, and has been at war for a while, and through all of the post-1980 wars, war-lets, little wars, the poverty rate has risen and is rising. America has been and still is spending big dollars on war. War aside. LBJ’s polices did provide educational and training opportunities, which lifted people out of poverty. The gist of the article is that GOP policies, since the 1980s, have led to an erosion off the middle class and to increase poverty in America.
No American wants to believe that over half of our fellow citizens live in poverty. But, “new statistics from the US Census show that almost (150 million of us) are counted as low-income citizens, making half of the population of America officially poor.” (Source: http://rt.com/usa/news/half-poor-america-poverty-909/). It was kind of interesting after reading this article that there was no mention of Santorum. Now look. Santorum blew the gates open in Iowa after most polls said he had at most 12% of the votes in Iowa. Now Santorum holds second place with 21% nationally according to the new Gallup Poll.
The article was written on Sunday, Jan 1. I used the latest polls then available. New polls came out Monday, showing a three way tie between Romney, Paul and Santorum. Gingrich faded in the dust. In the Iowa, voters can change their minds right up until their votes are counted, and the state is noted for voter shifts and for late candidate surges.
But don’t expect to see Rick from the Sanitorium in the rose garden, unless he jumps the White House fence, and secret service agents, and men in white jackets, with butterfly nets, will be chasing him.
