Corruption and the Media

What has happened to journalism today? Remember when two reporters thought it was worth their jobs to bring down the President for illegally taping at the Watergate hotel? How about Edward R. Morrows and his fight against McCarthy that shed light on the Communist witch hunt under taken by the government? What happened to the personal responsibility of reporters to verify, re-verify, and document the facts? Running down their shoe leather to make sure the American public was informed of facts, not partisan ideals. Well my friends it s a sad day today since I must report that the main stream media has mislead the public in NOT reporting the news. Simply ignoring stories that do not fit their political aims, and reporting on stories that are not relevant to anything.

‘According to the Pew Media Research group public trust in the major news organizations is at a 20 year low. Just 29% of Americans say that news organizations generally get the facts straight, while 63% say that news stories are often inaccurate. Similarly, only about a quarter (26%) now say that news organizations are careful that their reporting is not politically biased, compared with 60%’

Let me point out two recent items that the main stream press has FAILED to report on. That s 0% reporting, or for those of you sipping your wine/tea, did not cover at all!

Green Jobs Czar Van Jones ‘“ This man has been lauded as a great hero for the green movement. Yet none of the major news outlets covered this story until AFTER he resigned in disgrace for his radical statements and views. These are the people the President has surrounded himself with and has praised and supported. Moral of this story, don t get caught on tape.

Van Jones, the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, is Number 46 of the petitioners from the so-called “Truther” movement which suggests that people in the administration of President George W. Bush “may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war.”

December 2, 2005: “You’ve never seen a Columbine done by a black child. Never. They always say, ‘We can’t believe it happened here. We can’t believe it’s these suburban white kids.’ It’s only them. Now, a black kid might shoot another black kid. He’s not going to shoot up the whole school.”

February 11, 2009, Berkeley, CA. From a lecture Jones gave at the 2nd Annual Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) event. ‘Republicans are A**holes.’

ACORN ‘“ Here is a tax payer supported organization that has been accused of voter fraud during the 2008 election. It was only reported on at that time. Currently there are 14 states with investigations or law suits pending against this group. Now employees in 3 states have been fired for offering to help a supposed ‘pimp’ and his ‘prostitute’ to obtain mortgages to run brothels. In one case going so far as to tell the ACORN people they were going to bring in underage girls from central America. The ACORN staffers told them they could only claim 3 as dependants on their taxes, and one staffer suggested they bury some of their profits in a tin in the back yard. This is the most disgusting thing I have heard a community organizer ever do. Never mind they didn t throw the two out on their ears or report them to authorities, they helped them to dodge the taxes they would have to report to obtain the mortgages!

Crooklin staff – “Honesty is not going to get you the house,” a loan counselor at the offices told two activists posing as a mortgage-seeking pimp and prostitute.

Baltimore staff – On the video, a man and woman visiting ACORN’s Baltimore office asked about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman’s income. An ACORN employee advised the woman to list her occupation as “performance artist.”

Washington DC staff – “She’s not going to put on (the loan application) that she’s doing prostitution … she doesn’t have to,” a now-fired ACORN staffer says. “You don’t have to sit back and tell people what you do.”

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office issued arrest warrants for each of the 11 suspects of voter registration fraud, all of whom worked for the local chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, (ACORN).

Now ask yourselves this. If you are not being told these facts by your news organization, why is that? Personally I don t rely on any ONE source of news. Thankfully the Internet is vast in its resources. These are people that the President has associated himself with, and praised many times. Acorn is widely acknowledged to be the major driving force in getting Obama elected. What information will be withheld during the 2012 election? What news will be swept under the carpet to promote the ideology of the main stream media? How does it feel to have the wool pulled over your eyes yet again? And didn t Dan Rather lose his job for falsifying a report of Bush s military career? Hmm’¦..

Reporting all the news they fail to print.

Yeah, stating it’s niave to think in your first comment isn’t patronizing at all. Perhaps you should tone your comments down to match your intentions. I don’t think you are a flamming liberal or extrreme left person. I just find your looking down your nose at me offensive. When you cast stones expect to have a few tossed your way as well. I expect alot of hate being posted in comments about what I say. The truth is often an ugly thing, but never something to be afraid of. You say I hate. I don’t hate you. I disagree with you. Yet you are more than willing to insult me just as neatly or assume I am a hateful person to justify my world view. Cast not the first stone, if you don’t want a rock hurled your way either. Try being as concerned about your tone as you are mine.

****Update********
The Senate voted today to withhold funding to ACORN by an 87 – 7 vote. Read the article here: http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSTRE58D6CW20090914
The house passed a bill allowing for ACORN funding. Now they will have to be reconciled before being sent to Obama for signature. I do agree with the ACORN rep that the real losers are those seeking help for mortgage problems. However, corruption of this nature is not excusable by any means.

By saying I’m in favor of something I clearly stated I am not, you are editing what I said. You don’t have to delete words to edit.

Most of what I do is provide counter point to you, as have others. You are constantly accusing me of supporting what I did not comment on, or have said I did not, so that I fit into your vision/role of the far left Liberal Democrat you wish me to be. You are the one who consistantly takes it personal, not just with me, but also with others. I don’t have to know you to see your actions for what they are.

Why are you so angry all the time? Are you that insecure in what you believe that you are threatened by anyone who sees things differently? Is that why you need to be right so badly that you personally insult people and get so nasty? You are entitled to have your opinions, no matter what they are, but you are not allowed to insult people and call names and still expect respect for your thoughts and words.

I’m done with you, you’re not worth it…. If I wanted to trade playground insults, I’d go hang outside elementary schools.

oh… and I don’t edit comments you post. That wouldn’t be right. So don’t accuse me of something under handed. You have no right.

I was just responding to your comments. I never said you condoned their action nor personally mentioned your beliefs. Unlike what you appear to do in outlining mine. For someone who doesn’t know jack about me you think you have me figured. Not likely sister. Simply clarifying for you based upon your comments. Again, the only assumptions here are comming from your side of the screen.

And where did I say I was in support of ACORN’s actions. I believe I specifically stated that I do not…. but then again, that does not support what you want to blieve, so you edited out the “not”…..

Senate votes on Johanns amendment to cut off ACORN housing funds; Update: Amendment passes, 83-7
By Michelle Malkin €¢ September 14, 2009 05:22 PM

I think there are more than 7 Democrats in the Senate…. but the Dems are covering for them….

Next…..

And when did I say that Van Jones is right about everything? I looked over what I said, and I’m pretty sure I did not say that. There ya go, taking one sentence and making a whole story out of it. The point I was making is that yes, he said some stupid things to appeal to a base, but that he is far from the only one. If that is the reason why he should not be in office, then neither should Sarah Palin and a whole host of others. And unless the man has commited treason, the the fact that he was once a member of the Communist Party in his youth is irrelevant. I don’t have to do the research you do, read some right wing blog and repeat it like it is the gospel truth. Watch Glenn Beck and forget that he offers a disclaimer on the top of his own website “entertainment mixed with information”- notice entertainment comes first….

People in one city acting corrupt, fine. That’s the employees fault. People in 3 different states makes me think this is a common problem for ACORN. They get paid to get people mortgages. If they aren’t signing forms they loose government money. Voter fraud in one or two states, that the employees. Voter fraud in 14 states in indicative of a systemic problem. That’s just logic. Repeat after me, ACORN is a corrupt organization.

As for Obama condoning it or supporting it, that is an assumption on your part. However, it’s widely acknowledged that the organization is responsible for helping to get him elected. Do I think “the one” knew about it? No. However, he has praised ACORN for it’s work and help in his election. Guilt by association unfortunately is some times warranted. With these recent developments do you think the Democrats or Obama will denounce this group? That’s naïve and biased because they will not. Why would they bite the hand that fed them? Raised so much money for them?

Nice how the only Van Jones argument you have is about school shootings. Yeah WHITE corporations poisoning the poor minorities isn’t racist at all is it? Calling republicans infantile names it’s hate speech if it’s your guy huh? Or believing the government could pull off the most intricate plan in history without being ousted by ANYONE. Yeah the government could pull off 9/11 and NO ONE WOULD BLOW the whistle. THAT is NAÏVE beyond the pale. I left out of my article that for a period of time he was also a card carrying communist. Try doing some research for a change. It’s what reasonably intelligent people interested in the truth do.

Repeat after me; “Google is my friend”

And I don’t think the Dems do everything right or that they are always right, but I can’t sit and let the GOP point fingers, sit on their rears on their high horses and criticize while doing nothing, acting as though they have not done the same or worse and that we all should have as short a memory as they apparently do. They had the White House for 20 of the last 28 years, along with Congress for significant portions of that, yet everything that has gone wrong is Obama and the Dems fault?

Maybe if the GOP wasn’t so quick to be content to merely point the finger and would actually WORK WITH the current administration, I wouldn’t feel such a need to defend the Dems. But the more the GOP gets ugly, the more people in the center are going to see how they are pointing at others to deflect attention away from the complete mess the Bush Administration made of a lot of things. The very same mess they tried so hard to distance themselves from during the 2008 election.

I’m not defening ACORN’s mortgage practices, but I can honestly tell you that, as a former loan officer. I saw that kind of stuff being done everyday. Every loan company has, at one time or another, have people on staff who lied and cheated. Any place where people earn commission on their production, you are going to have those who cut corners. The question is, was it a company wide policy? If so, then you can indict ACORN.

Voter fraud happens during EVERY election-its the nature of the beast. Not that ACORN should not be held accountable- they should- but to act as if it only happened during this election is naive and biased. And you are insinuating that Obama knew about it and possibly condoned or encouraged it. Like that’s not a leap… But those who were upset about the election results in 2000, where a man who did not get the popular vote was made president, were nothing but a bunch of cry babies….

OK, Van has a big mouth. He is telling the truth about mass school shootings, none have been committed by balck youth. With that said, if having a big mouth and saying stupid things instantly makes you unqualified for public office, then why are GOPs agitating for Sarah Palin for president? At least he WANTS his job and has a track record of doing a good job and getting results….
