I didn’t intend to write a part two to my last blog, but this seriously bothers me. So there is more coming out on this Acorn story day by day. And the video gets wilder each time. How does the major news organizations fail to investigate corruption at a federally funded community organization? What’s even more interesting is how two twenty something’s with $3,000 and a really tacky pimp hat scoop the New York Times, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the Boston Globe, and just about every other news outlet in the country. Let’s face it folks the news has been caught with it’s pants down, and the ugly mole of hypocrisy is easy to see.
A quick scan today of some of the major players in the news (via the web) still lack any substantial coverage of the growing scandal that is brewing. Nothing on the front pages of their sites, and searches of the individual news sites brings up very little. Even Nancy Pelosi pulled a Charlie Gibson. You know he talked to Don and Roma of WLS Am Chicago. “Gibson: I know we ve done some stories about ACORN before, but this one I don t know about’¦”
Yet Pelosi has taken support from ACORN in the past. Even President Obama has been a HUGE supporter of ACORN and has benefitted from it. I think an investigation into his ties to the group should be made to clear the air here. Given that 14 states have investigations ongoing for claims of voter fraud against ACORN it’s only good policy.
But I digress. The second side to this story is the UTTER FAILURE OF THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA TO KEEP THE PUBLIC INFORMED. The news media has constitutional rights where information is concerned. With scandals like Dan Rather and the Bush National Guard papers, the GM Truck Fire expose by NBC, and a couple others I won’t go into where is the media in all this? ABC spent almost an entire day of their news programming to help support Obama’s health care. Yet they are playing down this ACORN story as best they can. Ask yourself this; how can you make an informed decision about politics if the people in charge of informing you are not telling you everything. I knew there was a bias in the main stream media, but an outright BLINDNESS to news is unforgivable. By refusing to cover this story the media has shown it’s total disregard for the “public good”. Their talk of “hard hitting, in depth coverage” now rings hollow in my ears. Now how will this new revelation effect the 2012 election? Or even the mid-terms for that matter? Can you trust what you hear from them any more? The bigger question is how do we get them back on track with REAL news reporting. Not just stories about the First Lady’s shorts at the Gran Canyon.

First of all I never said Obama knew what was going on with ACORN. I did say, as a responsible citizen, that we the public should know. Especially since HE HIMSELF stated that they would have a hand in forming his new government. Since HE HIMSELF gained so much from the groups efforts. Since HE HIMSELF wanted to be the “most transparent White house in history”.
Second. Despite not having seen the edited bits of the tapes there is still damming evidence. Un-defendable as the spokes person for ACORN admitted herself. As for the main stream media’s higher standards I already addressed the scandals from recent memory, but how about the reporter in a boat trying to make it seem like the flood was high. Only to have people walk by and show it was ankle deep? Or using incendiary devices to make sure GM trucks caught fire in low impact, supposed, independent tests? These tapes are MONTHS old, and are just now being reported. You think that they were done last week?
As for the argument to go to war it was the same, inept media, that re-published the same Intel that both the U.S. and British had. So they are just as complacent in that as they are LYING about Bush’s National Guard records. I believe a bastion of the Nightly News lost his job for that.
As for not using my REAL name, well like Superman to Clark Kent, or Batman to Bruce Wayne. I have people to protect from the likes of ill tempered people. Being responsible for my own FIRST, then the American Public that I truly believe in.

Great- another conservative witch hunt to bring a Democratic president down a la Whitewater… Yeah, that’s a really effective use of time. But it makes Fox News and its ilk a WHOLE lotta money. Divert attention from the real issues to sling mud- very constructive. Even when there’s nothing to suggest Obama knew anything about what was going on there.
Maybe the mainstream media, which is held to higher standards than some random website and bloggers (all of whom check their facts and hold themselves accountable for their words, right? Most don’t even use their real names), felt the need to check the facts and examine the tapes before running them on the internet and in the public. They have far too much to lose, ESPECIALLY given the whole Rather/Bush fiasco.
Even when it was obvious to everyone and their mother that the Bush Administration had lied to get us into the war with Iraq, the very same press you are trashing refused to flat out point the finger without proof. The mainstream press held on to Sanford’s dirty little secret for months and Giuliani’s brazen adultery, becuase there was no definitive proof. And they still hold on to Charlie Crist’s homo or bi-sexuality in light of his anti-gay rights voting record because no one has actually seen him in a sexual situation with a man.
It’s called corroboration. Anything less is irresponsible.
Here, Here! Thank God for FOX and the Americans who care enough to notice. It gives me hope our nation will recover when good people take notice. Small (and growing) forums like this scare and shame the main stream into reluctantly doing their jobs.
Remember, as conservatives we have to do twice as much, twice as good to get 1/2 the attention from the libs.
I am waiting for a comment from one of this sites local libs to justify the attempted black out of this story by major media.
