WARNING: This post is not overtly about political things. This post is about the Super Bowl, the snowstorm in the Mid-Atlantic states, and a conversation I had with my father when I was but just a boy. Ultimately, though, this post is a prophecy. A prophecy about the end of the world.
In the sense of redemption that overcame me last night as the New Orleans Saints brought the Who Dat Nation out of the shadows of the NFL, I realized that this could be the time of tribulation prophesied in the Book of Revelation.
Earlier in the day, reports coming out of the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area were of the Armageddon-like snowfall totals. Three to four feet of snow in an area that usually receives no more than 6 inches at a time was truly epic.
So I put these two things together along with a sage piece of wisdom from my father as we watched the ‘Aints lose yet another game to the hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers sometime in the early 1980s. He responded to my optimism as a tween with, “Hell will freeze over before the Saints win the Super Bowl.”
Well, all the evidence is in. The day before that fateful Super Bowl game, the Middle Atlantic states were covered in snow. It has become obvious to me that Hell did, indeed, freeze over. In fact, Hell got so cold, that the bad weather of the spiritual realm spilled over into the physical.
Based on wind patterns and snowfall totals recorded for the Mid-Atlantic area, I have been able to determine an approximate location for the actual gates of Hell. Based on my calculations, the gates of Hell are located at approximately 38°53’23″N , 77°00’27″W. As with the business of Hell being slowed due to weather, I do not think it is coincidence that even the work of Capitol Hill has slowed to a crawl on this cold, cold, winter day.

Where is the Nobel Prize for Mother Nature’s well deserved spanking of faith based science in all this? Time for all of ‘the family business’ to be settled. More storms are on the way!
