Judging Opinions

by Matt Brady January 23, 2010
Crazy Judge

The Supreme Court just ruled on the McCain-Feingold Campaign finance reform law and already feathers are flying. In a 5-4 vote the court overturned many of the limits on campaign spending for corporations. Some thought of the decision as a big victory others say it is Un-American… but many out there seem to be missing [...]

Nancy Pelosi Needs More Botox

News to Know  Should Government Regulate Our Eating Habits? I’m glad were tackling the big issues like public salt consumption while our citizens tackle terrorists in planes. There is nothing more important than the lives of our citizens. Every available resource should be mobilized towards the goal of a system that we all know works.   U.N.’s [...]

Sen. Chris Dodd, D-CT, who has represented Connecticut in the Senate for more than three decades, announced today that he will not run for re-election next fall and is retiring from the Senate. So did Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-ND. Also, Gov. Bill Ritter, D-CO has announced that he will not be seeking re-election this cycle. [...]

You can always tell…

by Consti Tution December 17, 2009

Consti here sitting in the Zen room of the underground bunker. I’ve been contemplating the immortal words of Socrates who said; “I drank what?” The Buddhists believe that you should learn from nature. In fact a lot of their teachings evolve around animal instincts and how they relate to the human animal. Lessons are taken [...]

I’m not ok with this.

by Consti Tution October 29, 2009
I am for your right to stand on your patio in your boxers covered in thousand island dressing while eating a double greasy with cheese, drinking a beer, smoking a cigar while reciting god bless America in front of a flag at the top of your lungs.

Recently it was commented that it was ok for a politician to “call out” the American public as to their responsibilities. This was in relation to the town hall protests this past summer. So let me get this straight. It is OK for the people WE elect to refer to US as ‘stupid‘, ‘racist’, ‘terrorist‘ [...]

For the greater good

by Consti Tution October 27, 2009

I have heard this term echo often in the blog-o-sphere. For the greater good. My question is WHOs greater good? When one side of the political spectrum determines the greater good, how is that ‘good’ for the people? Let s take a case study. In England they have implemented the world s most invasive monitoring [...]

Consti here roaming through the underground bunker library where I stumbled on my old copy of Huckleberry Finn and a Connecticut Yankee. After tearing through the books I wondered what one of the greatest writers of American history had to say about politicians. WWMTD? Now my library is as extensive as the internet is big, [...]

Politics is like a sandbox

by Consti Tution October 10, 2009

They don’t let little kids play in the sandbox at school any more. Too much of a liability these days. However, I remember as a little, little kid my public school had one. As little children we learn many social skills in the sandbox. Politics is like this. Let me explain. So there are children [...]

Welcome to the New Americka?

by Jerry Mandered September 23, 2009
The New America

If you have ever needed an example of what happens when government is involved in the market, we have had the luxury of seeing a number of examples of the predictable devolution of our representative democracy to that of thugocracy in just the past few months. The firing of executives of GM by the Obama [...]

Does the First Amendment Apply to Corporations?

by Jerry Mandered September 19, 2009

That is the question being considered by the Supreme Court after hearings last week in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.  Opinion pieces (The Wall Street Journal is pretty one-sided) and news articles (an example from The New York Times) abound on this issue, but there are really only two sides of this argument. Some [...]
