Consti here coming to you from the Secret Underground Bunker Extreme Laugh Factory. SUBELF for short. The scientists here have been running experiments in humor on Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and several other Democrats to see if they have a sense of humor. So far all results are negative. They have however discovered the funniest joke of all time which I will share with you at the end of this article. Since I truly believe that if you can’t make fun of politics whom can you make fun of I present you this little ditty. A funny thing happened…

A funny thing happened Thursday January 14, 2010. Vice President Joe Biden according to his schedule is to meet at 2:15 PM with Earl Devaney, chairman of the Recovery Act Transparency and Accountability Board. This meeting is closed to the press. This is not associated with the Healthcare legislation which was also promised to be televised to the public. That was transparently provided for one (1) hour.  The joke here is on the American people who were promised the most transparent administration in history. I guess this doesn’t include meetings on transparency itself.

A funny thing happened Wednesday January 13, 2010. According to a statement released on the White House 2 Million jobs have been created or saved thanks to the economic stimulus. Never mind that there is no way to accurately count jobs created or saved as any economist will tell you. The funny thing is that on Thursday January 14, 2010 a report was released stating; “In another disappointing economic report, the number of newly laid-off workers requesting unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week as jobs remain scarce.” Add to that the fact that retail sales unexpectedly fell in December, leaving 2009 with the biggest yearly drop on record and you have yourself one knee slapper. The joke here is on the unemployed who keep having unrealistic sunshine blown up their posteriors.

A funny thing happened in relation to the TARP funds. Banks that took bail out money and repaid it even though they never needed it to begin with are laughing loudly at the proposal from the White House to tax them. Never mind that they took the money while a gun was held to their head since not all of the banks needed to be bailed out. So the joke here is that if you are a failed bank trying to recover for the sake of the economy you are going to be taxed again. Having to pay more for money you didn’t need in the first place. How is this economically sensible? Don’t know and that’s the funny part.

A funny thing happened Tuesday January 12, 2010. “The White House Tuesday argued President Barack Obama’s “steady diplomacy” had made America stronger and renewed its moral authority despite “unprecedented challenges” in his first year in office.” This was released despite the fact that Russia thumbed its nose at the U.S. after Obama scrapped the European Missile shield. Or that China refuses to endorse further sanctions against Iran. What makes this even funnier is the failed attempt to blow up a Detroit bound airliner on Christmas day. Or funnier still a visibly ill man who was on a “do not board” list is allowed to fly from Philly to San Fran. Exposing passengers for 6 ½ hours to his TB a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease. I guess the joke is this; TSA – Terribly Stupid Agency. Or just that fact that the white house thinks they have made us safer in the last year.

A funny thing happened Sunday January 10, 2010. IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman admitted he does not file his own taxes in part because he believes the tax code is complex. Instead he uses a tax preparer. Add to that Timothy Geithner head of the Fed could not understand Turbo tax and failed to pay taxes on several occasions. Or even better still the fact that federal workers owe 3 Billion in unpaid taxes to the government they work for. The joke here is that if the tax code is so complex what will the Healthcare legislation be like? I know Guy goes to the doctor for a checkup. Doc says fill this out in triplicate, have this notarized, wait 4 to 6 weeks for approval then come back and see me for that cold.

“Now Consti these jokes are not funny. Sounds more like sour grapes to me.” Well humor is subjective and depends on the audience. (Just ask Jay Leno) Personally I find reality funnier than any sophomoric humor about a person’s imagined intelligence, ear size, Botox use, or political gaffs. What I don’t find funny is this administrations weak veiled attempt at blowing sunshine and rainbows when a majority of people say they would vote against Obama for a second term. Or President Barack Obama ends his first year in office with his to-do list still long and his unfulfilled campaign promises stacked high. And it’s definitely not funny that this administration along with the democratically controlled congress has destroyed the American dream for so many people.

And the funniest joke of all time?

The arrogance of this administration in thinking they have a mandate from the people to destroy this country.

Amen. Luckily I am unable to show my true feelings as they are hidden in by a shroud of transparency.

Eric,

Thanks. And I would agree with you if it wasn’t sad but true. Denial is not just a river in Egypt. And there is alot of denial going around.
